Data portal
The aim of the data portal is to integrate and provide open
and free access to freshwater biodiversity data from all possible
sources. This information portal will serve as a data discovery tool,
and will allow scientists and managers to complement, integrate, and
analyze distribution data to elucidate patterns in freshwater
biodiversity.
Please notice that this is a very early version intended as a kind of 'proof of concept' for illustrating some possibilities on which we could elaborate further. The currently available data are megafauna data harvested from GBIF mainly for demonstration purposes. Actually, we put quite a lot of effort in the database and technologies that are behind the portal, which will allow us to extend both the database and the visualization tools steadily from now on. We hope to improve the portal with your input and data in the near future.
So, please have a look at the different pages of the portal, go through the search tips, try some searches (excusing us for the lack of content for now) and let us know what you think!
Please have a look at our data providers page if you are interested to contribute (meta-)data.
